Elaine Couture has been promoted to CEO of Providence Health Care Eastern Washington, according to a news release.
"I'm honored to have the opportunity to serve Providence in this new role," Couture said in the release. "We have a phenomenal history and a promising future, and I couldn't be more excited about partnering with physicians, staff and our leadership team to ensure PHC continues to serve this community with quality, affordable, accessible care."
Couture, 57, replaces the retiring Michael Wilson, who announced his departure in the fall from the Spokane, Wash.-based division of Providence Health & Services. Wilson, 62, will continue as an adviser throughout next year. He has spent 31 years with Providence. This isn't the first time Wilson has retired as CEO, as he originally retired in April 2009. He came out of retirement in May 2011, when he was named to the same post on an interim basis.
