According to a news release from Johns Hopkins, the new facilities will follow the same outpatient primary-care procedures and protocols of Johns Hopkins Community Physicians; offer consultations with doctors; and provide diagnostic, laboratory testing, pharmacy and ambulatory-care services. The clinics will also include the following specialties: general internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology and otolaryngology.
“This initiative is an important step toward transforming primary healthcare services in India,” Dr. Pradeep Handa, chairman of the Bharat Family Clinic, said in a news release. “We believe that this can be best accomplished through the delivery of quality medical and wellness services in an environment of compassion, comfort and care.”
No financial details were disclosed.
The flagship clinic is expected to open next month and will be located in the Delhi area.
A spokeswoman for Johns Hopkins Medicine International said in an e-mail that each clinic is expected to employ between 18 and 20 healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses and technicians.
