McKesson in deal to acquire Med3000

McKesson Corp., San Francisco, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Med3000, a Pittsburgh-based healthcare management and technology services company.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, a McKesson spokesman said in an e-mail.

McKesson said in a news release that Med3000 will complement McKesson's medical billing and practice management services. Med3000's clients include physicians, hospitals and health systems, and state and local municipalities.

"McKesson and Med3000 share a commitment to help customers navigate growing healthcare complexity and achieve their full potential," Pat Leonard, senior vice president and general manager for McKesson Revenue Management Solutions, said in the release.

The transaction is expected to close this year, pending regulatory approval.
