“We have been in business since 1993, and from that time our employee base has grown tremendously, and that has helped us get out into the field and interact with our diverse communities,” Vialva says of Healthfirst's 2,300-person staff. Healthfirst's employees and members speak a variety of languages, and the company provides bilingual material and targeted outreach to members who do not speak English. A sign of the company's growth is a new LEED-certified headquarters in Manhattan. But Vialva promises that the company has not lost touch with what helped build that new office.
“We are out there in the community and continuing to build on our corporate sponsorships,” she says. “Outreach is what sets us apart from other companies.”
