What it does: Jones Regional Medical Center is a hospital in Anamosa, Iowa, that serves more than 55,000 patients a year.
How it grew: Almost all of Jones' 150% surge in revenue has come since 2009, when the hospital moved to a new $14 million building in Anamosa. That move helped the hospital solidify its presence in Jones County and expand its reach to neighboring communities.
“Jones Regional Medical Center is a prime example of how St. Luke's and the Iowa Health System are supporting and reinvesting in local healthcare options,” Ted Townsend, CEO of Jones' parent company, St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, said in an e-mail. “Jones Regional has exceeded expectations, not only from a quality of care perspective, but also for increasing patient and staff satisfaction.”
The hospital's growth does not seem to be slowing. CEO Eric Briesemeister and his executive team are working on a major capital expansion plan for the medical center.
