Officials at University of Louisville Hospital said they could have a new prospective buyer for the safety net facility by the end of the year.
The news comes nine months after strong public outcry led Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear to nix Catholic Health Initiative's $620 million plan to buy the 318-bed hospital.
“We continue to have productive and meaningful dialogue with all the respondents and thank them for their dedication as we work through the technical details required in the negotiations,” according to a hospital statement (PDF). “As the process moves forward, it has become clear that our discussions will likely move past this September and may conclude closer to the end of the year.”
