The Integrated Physician Network, a multispecialty association of physicians and medical practices, has agreed to join the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization's health information exchange, the two groups announced.
The IPN, Louisville, Colo., is a quality-improvement collaborative focused on using electronic health records and adhering to evidence-based protocols. It includes 200 providers at 40 practice sites, according to a news release (PDF) from the organizations.
"A significant amount of our patient information comes from sources outside of our provider network, such as regional community hospitals, labs and imaging centers," said Dr. David Ehrenberger, chief medical officer of IPN and chief medical officer at Avista Adventist Hospital, Louisville, Colo., in the release. "That's why we are so excited to be a part of the HIE; it is launching us into a new era and taking us to the next level of proactive population health management."
The Denver-based Colorado Regional Health Information Organization recently named Dr. Larry Wolk CEO.
