Mediware Information Systems, Lenexa, Kan., said it closed on a deal for Strategic Healthcare Group, Indianapolis. Under the deal, Mediware will operate the newly acquired blood management consulting and information technology company as a wholly owned subsidiary, according to a news release announcing the deal.

Mediware markets automation software for blood management, cellular therapy and medication management, according to the company's website. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Dr. Timothy Hannon, founder of Strategic Healthcare Group, has been named chief medical officer for the subsidiary, a spokesman said.
