Peter Shumlin explains how a single-payer healthcare system in his state, built on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, would affect providers. He also discusses the role that hospitals and physicians are playing in remaking the way the state pays for and delivers care. Shumlin says critics of the experiment worry that it will spread to bigger states after Vermont shows it can be done.
