Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, has named Dr. José Baselga as physician-in-chief of Memorial Hospital, the center's inpatient facility, according to a news release.
Baselga will start Jan. 1 at the 470-bed hospital. He joins Memorial Sloan-Kettering from 907-bed Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, where he served as the chief of the division of hematology/oncology as well as the associate director of the hospital's cancer center. Baselga, 53, also is a researcher and has focused his lab work on breast cancer. He succeeds Robert Wittes, who will step down at the end of the year.
