The Rhode Island Quality Institute, a Providence-based not-for-profit organization, has tapped Dr. Jonathan Leviss, a primary-care physician, as its first chief medical officer. Leviss most recently served as VP of physician solutions at Dearborn Advisors, Providence.
Leviss has held a number of other leadership posts in health information technology, consulting and hospital management. Among his previous roles were director of clinical solutions at Microsoft Corp., senior manager at Deloitte, and assistant VP and chief medical informatics officer for the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp.
Since 2005, he also has been a practicing internist at Thundermist Health Center in West Warwick, R.I.
