American Cyber Systems, a Duluth, Ga.-based information technology services and staffing company, announced it had acquired Cross USA, a company that provides outsourced IT services using workers based in rural U.S. communities. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a news release, ACS, which serves a number of sectors, including healthcare, defense and retail, said the deal would expand its geographic reach and add new services to its outsourcing offerings. “The sale will provide our newly merged customers with a strengthened outsourcing portfolio and a broadened technology base that will satisfy their customers' most challenging requirements,” ACS said in the release.
Cross USA, based in Burnsville, Minn., offers a number of healthcare-related services, including claims management, billing and enrollment.
According to the release, Cross USA will retain its name and ACS will act as its parent company.
