Science Applications International Corp., McLean, Va., completed its $473 million deal to acquire maxIT Healthcare Holdings, a Westfield, Ind., healthcare IT consulting firm.
SAIC completes acquisition of maxIT
The companies forged the deal last month.
Publicly traded SAIC will fold maxIT's 1,300 employees into its health solutions business unit, according to an SAIC news release. The release described maxIT as the largest private independent healthcare IT consulting company in North America, primarily serving hospitals and other provider groups.
The deal will strengthen SAIC's capabilities in electronic health-record implementation for its federal healthcare customers, according to the release.
