HHS is seeking approval from the Office of Management and Budget to interview Children's Health Insurance Program administrators nationwide (PDF) to gather information on a host of issues related to the program.
HHS seeks to interview CHIP administrators
The department's Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, or ASPE, has made the request to interview administrators in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Conducted by phone, the interviews are expected to last about an hour and will center on changes in the CHIP program since 2006; how the CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2009 has had influenced state CHIP programs; preparations for implementing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; and the future of the program. ASPE is seeking a one-year approval period to collect information.
Meanwhile, public comments on this information collection requestmust be received within 30 days and will be provided to OMB, which will later accept additional comments from the public during the review and approval period.
