Dignity Health, San Francisco, and Vanguard Health Systems, Nashville, said they will seek to form a Medicare accountable care organization in Arizona. The not-for-profit California system, which owns three Arizona hospitals, and for-profit Vanguard, which owns five Arizona hospitals operating as Abrazo Health Care, said they will submit an application to Medicare by the September deadline, according to a joint statement. The partners also intend to create a clinically integrated network and will seek to increase the number of doctors who will participate in the ACO.
