Members of Congress moved quickly this morning to release statements, falling mainly along party lines, in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision on the healthcare reform law.
Democrats praised the court's decision to uphold nearly all of the law's provisions. Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, which crafted much of the statute, called the ruling “a win for millions of American families, small businesses and seniors who are getting more affordable healthcare, tax cuts and protections from insurance company abuses thank to this law.”
Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) also lauded the ruling, calling it “the right decision, the fair decision, the decision that's best for our citizens.”
