Lifespan Corp., a four-hospital system based in Providence, R.I., hired Ian Hyatt as VP and chief technology officer.
Lifespan selects Hyatt as CTO
Hyatt, 44, most recently served as senior director of the national response center and network operations for Gtech Corp., a gaming technology and services company also based in Providence, according to a news release.
Hyatt is a first sergeant in the Rhode Island Air National Guard's 143rd Airlift Wing, where he is responsible for management, training and discipline of enlisted personnel, according to the release. He recently served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The CTO position has been vacant since the end of 2011, when David Hemendinger left Lifespan, a spokeswoman for the hospital system said in an e-mail. Hemendinger joined Summer Infant, a baby products company, as COO in November.
