Health Central, Ocoee, Fla., promoted Greg Ohe to president, effective June 1. Ohe, 52, steps into the role after Orlando (Fla.) Health's $181.3 million takeover of Health Central, which closed April 2. He replaces former President Richard Irwin, who retired March 31, according to an Orlando Health spokeswoman. An Orlando Health executive held the interim president role until the newly formed board of directors nominated and approved Ohe's appointment, the spokeswoman said. Ohe has served as Health Central's senior operations executive since 2004. ... Advocate Health Care, Oak Brook, Ill., announced the promotion of Richard Heim to president of Advocate South Suburban Hospital. Heim, whose age wasn't provided, will start July 2 as head of the hospital in Hazel Crest, Ill. For the past year, he was VP of operations and ambulatory services at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill. Before that he was VP of business development and administrative services at the system's Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill. He replaces Michael Englehart, who became president of Advocate Physician Partners on July 1. ... Columbus (Ga.) Regional Healthcare System named Ryan Chandler president and CEO of the Medical Center, effective June 25. He replaces Lance Duke, who resigned from the post in April. Chandler joins Columbus Regional from Firelands Regional Healthcare System, Sandusky, Ohio, where he is currently a senior VP and COO. His age was not provided. … Catalpa Health, a children's outpatient behavioral health provider that is ramping up to begin operations in Wisconsin's Fox Valley, named Lisa Kogan-Praska its president and CEO. Kogan-Praska, 43, will be responsible for hiring staff, developing the program and working with area organizations as Catalpa aims to open for the public this fall, according to a news release. Catalpa is a stand-alone joint venture of Affinity Health System, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and ThedaCare. Kogan-Praska has spent the past 12 years working for Affinity Occupational Health, including most recently as director of occupational health and patient experience.
Ohe named president of Health Central, and other moves
Greater Houston Healthconnect, a group that's building a regional network to implement electronic health records, named Philip Beckett to the new position of chief technology officer. Beckett joins the organization after having worked for eight years at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, most recently as executive director for commercial solutions. Beckett's age was not provided. Healthconnect, which was known as the Greater Houston Health Information Exchange until February, is a collaboration of the Harris County Healthcare Alliance and the Center for Houston's Future.
