Mayo Clinic has expanded its network of local hospitals and systems that collaborate with the Rochester, Minn.-based health system, adding Heartland Health in St. Joseph, Mo., to its year-old Mayo Clinic Care Network.
A news release from Mayo says Heartland Health has for several years taken part in a Mayo neurology telemedicine program called “telestroke.” The arrangement announced on Wednesday allows Heartland to tap Mayo doctors for a number of services, as well as gain access to Mayo's database of medical best practices.
