Emdeon, a Nashville-based company that provides healthcare revenue and payment cycle management, said it acquired TC3 Health, an Irvine, Calif.-based provider of cost-containment tools and services.
The deal is expected to expand Emdeon's payment integrity services to include new claims analytics tools and access to a “broad-out-of-network claims cost management solution,” according to a news release.
"The combination of Emdeon's health information and connectivity network, connecting more than 1,200 payers, with TC3's technology and extensive PPO network delivers a comprehensive cost containment solution for our customers at a time when controlling costs is of paramount importance," said Gary Stuart, Emdeon's executive vice president of payer services, in the news release.
The companies are not disclosing financial terms of the deal at this time, according to an Emdeon spokeswoman.
In August of last year, the private-equity firm Blackstone Group announced plans to take Emdeon private in an approximately $3 billion deal.
