The American Society for Preventive Cardiology has named Mayo Clinic cardiologist Dr. Stephen Kopecky as president.
Kopecky works at Mayo's main campus in Rochester, Minn., and is a member of its cardiovascular health clinic and Statin Intolerance Clinic, according to an ASPC news release. His age was not provided. The ASPC made the announcement at its annual meeting in San Diego.
He replaces Nathan Wong as president. Wong is the director of the heart disease prevention program at the University of California at Irvine School of Medicine.
