The new technology will be installed in mid-2012, and First Choice Medical has also received state approval to open two satellite offices in Brevard County.
The acquisition is part of First Choice Healthcare Solutions' new business strategy to offer a "scalable retail services model" for physician groups, according to the release, and is the first of several planned.
"Our business model features developing and acquiring a network of efficient, professional multispecialty practices and physicians … that utilize diagnostic and other ancillary services, together with a facility that will house state-of-the-art equipment for those services," President and CEO Chris Romandetti said in the news release. "Including these ancillary services as part of the physicians' group practice, where appropriate, will provide additional revenues to the group that would otherwise be lost to others."
The company also plans to offer front- and back-office functions such as electronic billing and scheduling as well as medical records software to the groups under its umbrella.
