Regent Surgical Health, a Chicago-based surgery-center management and development firm, is expanding its relationship with the physician group Neurosurgery Ireland by announcing the company's first international hospital and physician joint venture.
Regent Surgical announces joint venture with Irish firm
It’s a 10-year deal between Regent, Dublin-based Neurosurgery Ireland, Chicago-based Accelitech and the 101-bed Hermitage Medical Clinic in Dublin. The announcement comes only weeks after last month’s news of the groups’ plans to bring the CyberKnife radiosurgery system to Hermitage. That would make Hermitage Ireland the only such facility with the system in Ireland, company officials say. The system should be ready this fall.
“Cancer patients will now have a non-invasive surgical option at a conveniently located, patient-focused facility,” Accelitech Chief Development Officer Scott Milligan said in a news release.
Officials say it’s the first joint venture of its kind in Ireland. Accelitech develops stereotactic radiosurgery and other technology-based cancer treatment programs.
