Orlando (Fla.) Health has completed its $181.3 million acquisition of Health Central, a 160-bed Ocoee, Fla.-based hospital.
Shannon Elswick, president of Orlando Health's adult hospital group, will serve as interim president of Health Central until a new president is selected.
As part of the deal, the Orlando, Fla.-based hospital operator has also created a new subsidiary, Orlando Health Central, to oversee Health Central's operations. A 13-member board of directors, consisting of 11 voting and two nonvoting members, will govern the division. The board consists of healthcare and business representatives from west Orange County as well as Orlando Health.
Yet Health Central will continue to operate under its own policies and procedures, according to an e-mailed news release.
