Passport Health Communications buys Stat Technologies

Passport Health Communications, Franklin, Tenn., has acquired Stat Technologies, Hazlet, N.J., a provider of scheduling software, patient portals and other health information technologies. Passport Health did not release terms of the deal in a news release announcing the acquisition. More mergers and acquisitions are expected for the year, according to the release.

"Passport and Stat are both entrepreneurial organizations with strong cultures focused on innovation, customer service and customer satisfaction," Stat CEO and co-founder Ram Iyengar said in the release.

Stat markets a health information exchange platform, software for patient scheduling, a physician portal for patient chart and clinical information and a patient portal that offers electronic access to patient-discharge information. Passport provides—among other business offerings—claims-management, insurance-verification and physician-order screening services and serves more than 8,000 hospitals, according to the company's website.
