Health Management Associates hired Jack Towsley as senior vice president of payer relations (PDF), a new position at the Naples, Fla.-based hospital company.
Towsley, 44, joined HMA after 10 years with HCA, Nashville, where he most recently was corporate vice president of strategic pricing and analytics. His responsibilities at HMA will include managed-care contracting and payer network development, the company said in an e-mailed news release.
“With the evolving healthcare reimbursement landscape, we will look forward to Jack's extensive relationships and industry expertise to help Health Management develop even better relationships between payers and our hospitals and physicians and best position us for the future of healthcare delivery models and reimbursement,” Kerry Gillespie, executive vice president of operations finance, said in a news release.
Towsley started at HMA on Feb. 6.
The investor-owned company has been growing quickly, most recently acquiring an 80% stake in five Integris Health hospitals in Oklahoma.
