NantWorks, a Los Angeles health technology company founded in September 2011 by billionaire philanthropist Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, has acquired Boston Life Labs, which provides hardware and software products used in patient telemonitoring.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed "at this time," according to a NantWorks spokeswoman.
Boston Life Labs, Boston, has been renamed NantCare LLC, according to a NantWorks news release.
"Wireless monitoring of patients is absolutely key to the future of healthcare," NantWorks Chairman and CEO Soon-Shiong said in the release. "NantCare's technology enables healthcare providers to monitor patients with chronic conditions, in their homes or wherever they may be."
Soon-Shiong was ranked No. 12 on Modern Healthcare’s list of the 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives in 2010.
