TriStar Health System, a division of Nashville-based HCA, has entered into a “clinical affiliation” with retail clinic operator MinuteClinic, a division of CVS Caremark.
MinuteClinic, HCA's TriStar plan affiliation
MinuteClinic has clinics inside 14 CVS stores and pharmacies in Nashville and the surrounding 10 counties. TriStar physicians will act as medical directors, and the two companies will collaborate on patient education and disease-management initiatives, and work toward integrating their electronic health-record systems, according to a news release (PDF).
This past December, MinuteClinic entered into a similar agreement with UMass Memorial Healthcare, a five-hospital system anchored by 700-bed UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
