Dr. William Bithoney has joined the healthcare business of Thomson Reuters as medical leader of the company's national provider business.
Thomson Reuters hires former Sisters of Providence exec
Bithoney, 60, is a board-certified pediatrician. He previously served as interim president and CEO of Sisters of Providence Health System, Springfield, Mass., which includes Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, as well as a behavioral health hospital, a rehabilitation hospital and other services. Bithoney also held the hospital's COO and chief medical officer posts, according to a Thomson Reuters news release.
Thomson Reuters announced in December it had suspended plans to sell its healthcare business, pending market improvements. The healthcare division of the company markets a range of data-driven products, including reports, drug information and analytic tools.
