Fletcher Allen names Brumsted CEO
Brumsted, 59, has served as interim CEO of Fletcher Allen Health Care since Dr. Melinda Estes left in August when she was named CEO of St. Luke's Health System in Kansas City, Mo.
He has worked at the hospital for 30 years, most recently as chief medical officer, according to a Fletcher Allen news release. In October, Fletcher Allen Health Care promoted Dr. Stephen Leffler to chief medical officer.
Fletcher Allen Partners was formed in October when Fletcher Allen Health Care and 83-bed Central Vermont Medical Center entered into a formal affiliation agreement. The parent organization has approval rights over the hospitals' budgets, strategic plans and major financial decisions, according to its website.
The Fletcher Allen Partners board must approve Brumsted's appointment. Fletcher Allen also recently named Heather Roszkowski to the newly created position of chief information security officer.
