MedQuist, a medical transcription services company, has changed its name to M-Modal. The Franklin, Tenn.-based company will trade under the NASDAQ ticker symbol MODL beginning Jan. 25. Vern Davenport, chairman and CEO of M-Modal, said no changes to corporate structure were made as part of the effort to rebrand the company.
MedQuist changes name to M-Modal
MedQuist acquired Pittsburgh-based M-Modal, a speech recognition software developer, in a cash and stock deal worth $130 million in August. On Monday, MedQuist announced it had named Amy Dellamora Amick, previously general manager of Microsoft Corp.'s Health Solutions Group, to the position of COO.
