The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute is asking providers and patients for their feedback on its newly released draft research agenda and priority list (PDF). PCORI is an independent not-for-profit organization, established by the healthcare reform law to perform and promote comparative-effectiveness research.
PCORI seeks input on draft research agenda
The 22-page draft outlines five priority areas for research, including addressing healthcare disparities. It will be available for public comment until March 15, PCORI said in a news release.
“We want to hear from patients, caregivers, providers and the wider healthcare community on whether our draft priorities and initial research agenda capture the broad areas where more evidence-based information is needed to make better decisions,” said Dr. Eugene Washington, chairman of PCORI's board, in the release. “This is a major milestone in our work as we continue to collaborate with all stakeholders and to build on the work of others for what we expect will be the most patient-centered research agenda yet.”
The release of the draft follows a Dec. 3 announcement that PCORI's Pilot Project Grants Program drew more than 850 applicants.
