Parkland Health & Hospital System, Dallas, named Mary Eagen executive vice president and chief nursing officer effective Jan. 30.
Eagen tapped for CNO post at Parkland
Eagen, whose age was unavailable by deadline, previously was regional chief nurse executive for Christus Health Southeast Texas, Beaumont. Interim Parkland CEO Thomas Royer previously was president and CEO at Christus Health, Irving, Texas. “As we redesign the nursing and clinical operational enterprise—as well as our patient safety and quality initiatives—I believe the result will be the creation of the ideal patient experience,” Eagen said in a news release.
Eagen replaces 20-plus-year Parkland veteran Miriam Sibley, whose resignation was announced Dec. 8 by Royer in a memo to employees. “Although the decision was a difficult one, after much thought and consideration she chose to leave this position in order that she may spend more time with her family,” Royer wrote.
