The Federal Trade Commission approved Universal Health Services' application to sell Montevista Hospital and Red Rock Behavioral Health Hospital (PDF), both in Las Vegas, to Strategic Behavioral Health, Memphis, Tenn., under the terms of an FTC order related to UHS' purchase of Psychiatric Solutions in 2010.
UHS' sale of two Vegas hospitals approved
UHS, based in King of Prussia, Pa., previously had gotten FTC approval to sell the facilities to Dr. Soon Kim through Signature Healthcare Services, Southfield, Mich., but UHS withdrew its application without explanation in September.
The FTC in a news release states that Universal Health still needs to sell a psych facility in Puerto Rico to comply with the FTC's order.
