CoxHealth, Springfield, Mo., promoted two of its current physician executives, effective Jan. 1.
CoxHealth promotes Duff, Powell
Dr. John Duff has been named senior vice president and chief hospital officer and will be responsible for the hospital’s three Springfield hospital campuses, as well as Cox Monett (Mo.), a 25-bed hospital. He also will oversee CoxHealth’s home health services, home infusion therapy and Cox College.
Dr. Ken Powell was named chairman of CoxHealth’s joint operating committee and chief of integrated physicians. He will be responsible for integrating the operations of the system’s employed-physician clinics, the multispecialty Ferrell-Duncan Clinic, and the Springfield Neurological and Spine Institute, which CoxHealth acquired in 2010.
The moves were announced in a news release by incoming President and CEO Steven Edwards, who is scheduled to take over Jan. 1 for Robert Bezanson. Bezanson announced his plans to retire in August. Edwards also announced that Ron Prenger would become chief clinical officer, overseeing all inpatient services, at the start of the year. The executives’ ages were not available at deadline.
