SonoSite CFO Marcus Smith will step down in January, less than a month after Fujifilm Holdings Corp. announced plans to acquire the Bothell, Wash.-based ultrasound device manufacturer.
SonoSite CFO to step down
Anil Amlani, most recently president and CEO of SonoSite subsidiary VisualSonics, has been tapped to replace Smith, according to a SonoSite news release.
The appointment takes effect Jan. 2. Amlani held executive positions at MDS Proteomics, Cancom and TD Bank before joining VisualSonics in 2005. SonoSite acquired VisualSonics last year.
Smith joined SonoSite in 2007 and was named senior vice president and CFO in 2010. He is expected to leave the company Jan. 5, according to the release. Tokyo-based Fujifilm said in mid-December that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire SonoSite for about $995 million.
