The U.S. Army Contracting Command recently awarded a prime contract that includes medical research and development services to Science Applications International Corp., McLean, Va., according to a company news release.
Army awards contract to SAIC
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to assist Navy Medicine's research mission lasts for a three-year base period, with a two-year option and a six-month extension option. The total contract value is more than $497 million, if all options are exercised.
Navy Medicine is the medical support force for all Navy and Marine Corps forces and provides health and preventive care for veterans, active-duty service members and their families.
The contract includes research on deployment health and clinical investigation program support, according to the news release.
