Wholesale acute-care hospital prices increased 0.6% in November after climbing 0.4% the prior month, according to figures from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In November 2010, the agency's Producer Price Index for acute-care hospital services dropped by 0.1%. For the 12-month period ended in November, prices rose 2.6% compared with 1.7% the prior year.
Wholesale hospital prices up 0.6% in November
For physician offices, the wholesale prices fell 0.2% last month after remaining flat in October. In November 2010, wholesale physician office prices were flat as well. During the 12-month period ended last month, physician prices increased 1.2% compared with 2.4% the year before.
