The Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals awarded a third-party liability identification and recovery services contract that extends through June 2014 to a wholly owned subsidiary of HMS Holdings Corp., New York, according to a company news release.
HMS wins La. data services contract
HMS also will perform data matches and insurance verifications to ensure that the state's third-party eligibility resource file remains current and will administer the Louisiana Health Insurance Premium Payment program. HMS has provided third-party liability and cost avoidance services to Louisiana since 1985.
In November, HMS announced that it had signed an agreement to purchase Las Vegas-based Health Data Insights, a recovery audit contractor technology firm, for approximately $400 million.
