The Bayonne (N.J.) Medical Center named Dr. Mark Spektor to succeed Daniel Kane as president and CEO. Spektor, the chief medical officer and director of emergency medicine for the 206-bed hospital, will assume the role of chief executive on Feb. 1, the hospital announced in a news release.

Spektor, 41, is also an assistant professor of emergency medicine for the State University New York-Downstate. Previously, Spektor was the Maimonides Medical Center emergency medicine medical director and the chief of emergency medical medicine for the New York Harbor Healthcare System, according the release. Kane, 69, was named chairman of the Bayonne Medical Center board of directors and a consultant to the hospital following the transition.
