HHS' Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology will host a town hall meeting on consumer engagement next week during the 2011 mHealth Summit in suburban Washington.
ONC to host town hall on consumer engagement
The ONC's announcement of the event comes less than a week after release of a study that found waning interest among consumers in seeking health information. The town hall meeting will take place Monday, Dec. 5, from 4:30-6 p.m. ET at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md., and is open to all mHealth Summit attendees. Participants will learn about the ONC's strategies to boost consumer engagement in health via IT, according to an e-mailed ONC news release.
More information about the summit, presented by the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health in partnership with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the mHealth Alliance and the NIH, is available at mhealthsummit.org.
