Lodi (Calif.) Memorial Hospital and 17 physician partners reached a partnership agreement with Regent Surgical Health, a Westchester, Ill.-based surgery center management and development company, involving two surgery centers in California.

The centers will now be called Lodi Outpatient Surgical Center and the Endoscopy Center of Lodi. The centers will provide ENT, endoscopy, general surgery, orthopedics, podiatry, ophthalmology and urology services. The deal brings the number of Regent surgery centers to 25. Similar to the partnership with 103-bed Lodi Memorial, 13 of those deals are collaborations with hospitals and doctors.
"Lodi Memorial Hospital and its physician partners face the same challenges related to competition, the economy and healthcare reform, but they were not working to solve them together," Regent CEO and founder Thomas Mallon said in a news release. "We helped the hospital and its physician partners bring these two centers together as one company that aligns the interests of all parties for long-term success."
