Dialysis provider Fresenius Medical Care is hiring two new physician leaders for its North American operations, according to a news release.
Fresenius names new CMO, associate CMO
Dr. Franklin Maddux has been appointed chief medical officer for Fresenius North America. Maddux has worked for Fresenius since 2009, when the company bought Health IT Services Group, a provider of electronic health-record software that Maddux founded in 2007. Maddux, 53, also is a clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill.
Fresenius promoted Dr. Jeffrey Hymes to senior vice president and associate chief medical officer. Hymes, 59, is a nephrologist who joined Fresenius in 2007 and is president of Nephrology Associates, a group practice based in Nashville.
