Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, a 369-bed hospital in Lebanon, N.H., named Dr. James Weinstein CEO, a position that has been reorganized to include the leadership of Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic.

Weinstein was also tapped as president of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, the Lebanon, N.H.-based holding company for the three facilities. His age was not immediately available.
The consolidation of the leadership positions at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic is “designed to streamline the leadership structure and allow the organization to best meet the needs of the patients and communities it serves,” according to a news release.
Weinstein has served as president of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic since 2010. Dr. Thomas Colacchio, previously president of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health, is returning to his practice as an oncological surgeon, and Nancy Formella, who has served as president of Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital since 2006, has been named an executive adviser to the board.
Colacchio, who previously announced plans to return to clinical practice in 2012, is expected to step down Nov. 14. The appointments were effective Nov. 1.
