Henry County Medical Center, Paris, Tenn., has agreed to purchase Kentucky Lake Surgery Center, also in Paris, for $5.8 million from its physician owners, according to a Henry County Medical Center news release.
Tenn. hospital to buy doc-owned surgery center
The board of the 101-bed, county-owned hospital has approved the agreement. Henry County commissioners are expected to take up the matter this month. The hospital could close on the acquisition by Jan. 1. The hospital board approved borrowing $7 million to cover the cost of the acquisition and the purchase and installation of a surgical robot system, according to the release.
Eleven physicians currently use the surgery center for orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, general surgery, podiatry and gastrointestinal endoscopy.
