Wisconsin Heart & Vascular Institute, a Madison-based practice with 12 physicians and four midlevel providers, will be renamed Meriter Wisconsin Heart when it joins the Meriter Medical Group on Jan. 1, according to a Meriter news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Wis. doc group to join Meriter Medical
The medical group is part of the Meriter Health System, which is anchored by 335-bed Meriter Hospital in Madison. With the addition of the Wisconsin Heart & Vascular staff, Meriter will have 116 providers, up from 68 two years ago. The institute's physicians and staff will become Meriter employees, Meriter spokesman Chuck Sanger said.
K.C. Frescoln, CEO of Wisconsin Heart & Vascular, said the deal was in the works for about eight months and will allow for the development of a comprehensive cardiovascular service line.
