Effective this January, Taylor was named CEO of Broward Health's 180-bed Imperial Point Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. Taylor started her healthcare career as a nurse before moving in administration, including jobs with Broward Health from 2003 to 2010. From 2007 to 2010 she worked as chief operating officer of 656-bed flagship hospital Broward General Medical Center.
Taylor told the Virgin Islands Daily News that she was returning the U.S. to be closer to family and friends, less than two years after moving to the Virgin Islands.
Former Schneider CEO Rodney Miller, who left the hospital in 2007, is slated for trial early next year on accusations of fraud and embezzlement, along with former Schneider Chief Financial Officer Peter Najawicz, and former Chief Operating Officer Amos Carty, who succeeded Miller as CEO. A fraud trial against the three men last summer ended in a hung jury, prompting the need for a second trial in 2012.
