Occupy Healthcare sounds to Outliers like an effort to erect a tent city outside the CMS headquarters in Baltimore. The blog, at occupyhealthcare.net, was inspired by the Occupy Wall Street protesters, but it's not meant to be a complaint board, says its founder, Ben Miller, a clinical psychologist and assistant professor at the University of Colorado at Denver School of Medicine.
Miller's work at the medical school is about integrating primary care and mental healthcare. “I started to ask, ‘Why isn't the community demanding integrated services? Why isn't the community demanding better care?'” Miller says. “So then, Occupy Wall Street started going and I jumped on it: We're not really asking enough of our healthcare system.”
