ACEP names new officers to board
Among the members elected to serve a one-year term were Dr. Andy Bern, as chair of the board; Dr. Alex Rosenau, as vice chair; and Dr. Michael Gerardi, as secretary-treasurer.
Bern, an attending physician at Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Fla., was elected to the ACEP board of directors in 2007. He has led or participated in national ACEP committees for six critical areas: finance, membership, education, communications, advocacy and leadership. He established ACEP's Disaster Medicine Section and wrote and lectured extensively on disaster topics.
Rosenau previously was secretary-treasurer of ACEP and was elected to ACEP boards in 2006 and 2009. He is an associate clinical professor of emergency medicine at Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa.
Gerardi is a faculty member for emergency medicine at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, N.J. He also is the director of pediatric emergency medicine at Goryeb Children's Hospital and senior vice president of Emergency Medical Associates. Gerardi was elected to ACEP's board in 2008.
