I was dismayed learning about this “doctor of nursing” title. While it's OK to have wishful thinking, to act on it borderlines on insanity to the least, and deceitful intent at its worst.
Calling nurses 'doctor' close to insanity
If one likes to be a doctor, it’s as simple as going to medical school and gaining the knowledge. Only when you earn your knowledge by working for it, is it worth having as a title in front of your name.
Why this back-door approach? It clearly shows how insecure and insufficient nursing professionals must be feeling at this point and time. Nursing is a highly dignified profession which patients, doctors and the general public come to expect to conduct themselves on high moral grounds. We sincerely hope common sense prevails.
